Some of you know I love cooking and crafting desserts. And brownies? Brownies are personal.
But a regular brownie at a Brew Buddy campfire felt like showing up to a bonfire with a flashlight. So we fixed it.
We baked our 6 Bean Blend dark roast directly into the batter — deep, espresso-forward, bold. Then we made a cold brew glaze using our Cold Brew Coffee blend — chocolate, toffee, floral — and poured it over the top while they were still warm.
This is the brownie that coffee made better. Which is honestly just coffee doing what coffee does.
What You Need
For the Brownies:
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp Brew Buddy 6 Bean Blend — brewed strong (or use 1 tbsp finely ground as espresso powder)
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
For the Cold Brew Glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp Brew Buddy Cold Brew Coffee — brewed and cooled
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: dark chocolate drizzle on top
Recipe #1 — Classic Campfire Coffee Brownies
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8 baking pan.
- Melt butter and mix in sugar until combined.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add your brewed 6 Bean Blend — strong, not watered down.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Don't overmix.
- Pour into pan and bake 20–25 minutes. Toothpick should come out with just a few moist crumbs.
- While brownies cool, whisk powdered sugar with cold brew until smooth and pourable.
- Pour the Cold Brew glaze over warm brownies. Add sea salt and chocolate drizzle.
- Let set for 10 minutes. Cut. Try not to eat the whole pan.
Recipe #2 — The Campfire Version (Cast Iron, Open Fire)
Got a campfire and a cast iron skillet? Even better.
Follow the same batter recipe, pour into a well-greased cast iron skillet, and cook over indirect campfire heat with a lid or foil on top for 25–30 minutes. The edges get slightly smoky and crisp. The center stays fudgy. The cold brew glaze goes on right off the fire.
This is the version that makes people ask for the recipe. Give them the blog link.
Why These Two Blends Work
6 Bean Blend — dark, espresso-forward, built for intensity. Baked into the batter it deepens the chocolate without overpowering it. It's the backbone.
Cold Brew Coffee — chocolate, toffee, floral tones. As a glaze it adds complexity and a subtle sweetness that straight espresso can't match. It's the finish.
Two Brew Buddy blends. One brownie. Zero leftovers.
The Brew Buddy Way
Roasted to order. Shipped fresh. Baked into brownies at a campsite in the woods — or your kitchen on a Wednesday night. We don't judge.
